3 Echelon-IV Officials Demoted Over Bribes Case

Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama demoted three echelon-IV officials in Jakarta Goods and Services Procurement Unit (ULP). They are proven guilty for asking kickbacks to expedite the auction process of Regional Working Units (SKPD).

They were mutated due to indi sciplinary action

“Yes (those officials have been demoted). I don’t know where they were put now (new position),” stated Basuki, at City Hall, Thursday (10/23).

For information, those officials asked for fee to SKPDs that want to hold auction for goods and services procurements. If the SKPDs did not meet their request, the auction process would not be accelerated.

Principal of SDN Makasar 09 Officially Demoted

Since the beginning, Basuki admitted that he did not agree with the formation mechanism of Jakarta ULP. At that time, Jakarta Personnel Board (BKD) had been suggested to hold open recruitment for Jakarta ULP employees. But due to limited time, ULP employees were taken from each SKPD. This is the one that Basuki deemed not good, because the old culture would still be used for the auction process. Whereas, he is trying to reform the bureaucracy to his ranks.

“They (SKPDs) sent two of their employees to ULP. If the employees still use the old culture, the auction documents would certainly be retained,” he uttered.

Meanwhile, Head of Jakarta BKD, I Made Karmayoga, confirmed that three echelon-IV officials in ULP were demoted from their positions.

“They were mutated due to indisciplinary action,” he told.

According to Karmayoga, those officials are mutated to General Bureau, Jakarta Transportation Department, and Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Department. He refused to disclose the names of those officials.
